ORBS
It
is well known in the circles of photography and by the camera manufacturers
themselves, that the phenomena of 'orbs' on digital photographs are
nothing more than environmental factors, e.g. dust, bugs,
pollen, lens flare, moisture and even hair. These images are recreatable
and we have conducted our own experiments to prove this and regularly test out
new cameras. The overview of our experiment can be found in the
article Orbs -
Dust or Real
Below
are some of the photographs that we have recreated as examples of these
environmental factors.
DUST:
|

Orbs created after a car passed by a cemetery
which lay next to a dirt road |
Orbs and mist at another cemetery.
However, it was a misty night which also had drizzle. You can see
the moisture droplets caught in the flash as it reflects off the mist. |
|
Dust captured at an old abandoned home.
How can we be sure it was dust?........
|

Due to vandalism and many arson attempts, there
was a lot of ash around. We threw this ash up into the air and
took many shots, all that showed varying degrees of dust shots,
depending on how far into the throw it became. Ash as you can see
will reflect many different colours.
|
|

Again another old property that was incredibly
dusty and had been left this way for years. Coincidentally the
more we walked around the more orb shots we were able to capture.
|
The shots out on the verandah were just as
contaminated. It should be noted this property also was situated
out in grazing paddocks that were frequently just grazed down to dust.
|
|

So then came the experiments under controlled
conditions. The next couple of shots are with household dust
dropped close to the lens.

|
Close up of the various orbs show the many
varieties found presented today as paranormal. This one shows a 3D
shadow and light orb.
|
This one shows the brighter variety that shows
clearly the brighter concentric ring around it. There is also the
smaller attachment to the left side of it. And yes a face can
almost be seen in this orb which seems typical with these types.
|
|

The double orb is clearly seen in this close up
of the picture.

An example of the orbs with the nucleus in the
centre and the 'spoking' effect
|

|

Another example of recreated textured orb.
|
|
But
what about coloured orbs? We then went on to experiment with coloured
substances with a more reflective surface so in this case we chose red, blue and
silver glitter.
