FAQ’S

WHO ARE P.F.I.?

P.F.I. stands for Paranormal Field Investigators and is a paranormal research group that was formed back in January 2002 by Alison Oborn and Jeff Fausch.  We had ideas on how we wanted this subject to be treated and the only way to do this was by setting up our own group.  Many of our investigators have been involved in research for many years and had spent time in other groups before P.F.I. was born.

WHAT DOES P.F.I. INVESTIGATE?

  P.F.I. mainly investigates the theories on Life after Death, e.g. Ghosts, hauntings etc.  But we are also interested in any subject to do with the paranormal as, at the end of the day, a lot of it could be linked.  UFO cases are usually passed on to Jeff Fausch as, although he was co-founder of P.F.I. in the beginning, he has now moved on to specialise in the UFO field.  He now helps run Aura which is an Adelaide Affiliate to AUFORN.

DO YOU INVESTIGATE PRIVATE HOMES?

Yes we investigate private residences as well as public. 

ARE THESE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL?

These cases are all kept confidential.  Only when we have permission will we release locations or names.  These normally are only public places.  You will see that on our website, there are very few investigations mentioned.  This is because we believe in protecting the identity of people and property where necessary due to possible repercussions or vandalism.  For this reason, unless the area is already known to the public, we will not refer to it by name.  Private residences are ALWAYS kept confidential unless they express otherwise.

DO YOU CHARGE FOR INVESTIGATIONS?

No we do not charge our clients to investigate their properties, we are a free service.  If however, investigations are well out of our area, then travel costs would have to be taken into consideration, or we would recommend another group closer to where the people are located.

WHAT AREAS DO YOU TRAVEL TO FOR INVESTIGATIONS?

We cover the metropolitan and regional areas of, South Australia.  We do also travel a couple of hours out into country areas and have done as far as Peterborough, Gladstone, and also areas south of the city.  So far we have not had many invites much further then this.  Obviously investigations that are further away are only feasible if we can stop the whole night.

DO YOU INVESTIGATE INTERSTATE?

At this stage we have not been invited to investigate in other states, but it would be a consideration.

DO YOU HOLD PUBLIC MEETINGS? 

We do not hold any public meetings and have no thoughts of doing so in the future.  The aim of our group was to just quietly involve ourselves in the research side of the subject.

HOW CAN I JOIN YOUR GROUP?

Again, the group is a private group and kept to a small number of investigators at any one time.  These investigators usually have something to bring to the group e.g. skills in technology, photography, etc.  You are welcome to apply and your name will be considered and then put on a waiting list.  Obviously those with some experience and knowledge important to the field would be given priority.

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR ANY PARTICULAR SKILL AT THE MOMENT? 

At the present time we have an opening for anybody in the field of psychology.  We did have our own psychologist in the team, but unfortunately this person moved interstate.  If you have any experience in this field then please feel free to contact us.
